I’M writing to alert your readers to tell them how they can, in one small way, help to save our British badgers without leaving their armchairs.
The National Trust is currently being asked by some of its members to vaccinate badgers on their land.
This will be considered at the National Trust’s annual general meeting on October 26 in Cardiff and all National Trust members will receive their voting papers in the coming days.
The trust is recommending that the motion be rejected, stating that they cannot rule out culling badgers on National Trust land.
They are currently piloting badger vaccination on one site in Devon but do not want to roll this out despite thousands of badgers currently being slaughtered in Gloucester-shire and Somerset.
If you are a National Trust member please vote in favour of the motion.
If you are not a member you could still let the trust know what you feel about their stance on this issue.
