I AM saddened that another Great British institution is being privatised by the Lib Dems and Conservative government.
Not even Margaret Thatcher as PM dared to attempt to privatise the Royal Mail which has been a public body for more than 250 years.
After so much pain and modernisation which has made £500million profit this year after so much public money that has been invested this was the time the public would be getting its money back with interest.
This shows that the government wants its friends to make money out of this beloved institution.
How many of its employees will lose their jobs?
Stripping assets is how private companies make profit.
How long will it be before deliveries will be alternate days?
As a trade unionist for both RCN and Unison I am proud of what the Communication Workers Union (CWU) are doing for the employees of the Royal Mail and the general public – they are putting up a great campaign – so carry on fighting.
I’m waiting for the results from its ballot of its members eagerly.
