Driving back to Bridport on the Dorchester bypass on August 28 at 10.30pm I joined a slow convoy of cars behind a 20mph tractor pulling a trailer of bales.
It would have been courteous to have pulled in to allow the cars to pass instead of driving on to at least beyond Winterbourne Abbas (some six and a half miles). A driver behind me decided to overtake five cars and the tractor-trailer near Monkeys Jump, which although straight, has hidden dips.
This is a case of slow speed on a difficult stretch of the A35 at night leading to driver frustration and the potential for an accident.
I later passed a similar tractor-trailer westbound on the A35 at Askerswell, but dual carriageway allowed safe overtaking.
