Is it not time that the people and the town council members of Bridport said that they will not be dictated to any more by Dorset County Council?

Are all these crazy schemes just another way to claw back some of the vast amounts of money spent on the new council offices in Dorchester?

How will charging for parking in town help the flow of traffic? People will still have to reverse into parking spaces, and it will mean that people will just shop out of town, making life still harder for the town shops.

And the suggestion to close the car park behind Waitrose is just plain crazy.

Have any of these councillors in Dorchester tried to get into the car park on a Saturday morning after 10 am? Where do they think all these drivers will go? They will shop out of town.

Let us hope that Bridport Town Council members unite, and say they will not be dictated to any more, and that we decide what happens in our town.

We live in a democratic society, so let the people of Bridport have their say in what happens in their town.

How about Bridport Town Council members starting a petition against the proposed charges for parking in the town. The system we have at the moment where you have one hour free is very fair, so why change it?
