Lyme Regis manager Stefan Taylor is confident things will come right - even though the side are still looking for their first win after five league games this season.
So far in the Premier Division of the Devon and Exeter League, The Seasiders have visited Lapford and Winkleigh, played Clyst Valley twice and met Sidmouth Town at Davey Fort.
"With a brand-new team so to speak I believe we have done OK. The 3-3 draw at home to Clyst after being 3-1 down proved to me what we are made of, that is having belief, passion and commitment,” Taylor told the News.
He added: “We’re a youngish team and mustn’t get bullied by bigger more physical sides. We also need to be more positive and work for each other.
“Going forward, having already played some of the bigger, better sides, I believe we can pick up some more points, especially at the Fort.
“Once we get a win under our belts people will become calmer. We’re going in the right direction but these things take time.”
The Player of the Month Award for September went to Sam Waddon for the first team with Bogdan Tudor picking up the title for the Reserves.
Lyme make the trip to play the University of Exeter Seconds this Saturday (October 5).
Last Saturday Lyme Regis Reserves reached the next round of the Bill Slee Cup with a win over Tipton St. John.
Robbie Fowler and Sam Merigaux scored for Lyme as the game finished 2-2 but Lyme went on to clinch the tie 5-4 on penalties.
