Lyme Regis were crowned Dorset outdoor bowls county champions in a dominant display against Wimborne.

Playing at Branksome Park Bowls Club, the club enjoyed a great day in the county finals as their Percy Baker men overwhelmed Wimborne to lift the title.

Led by captain Alan Nabbaro, he with Richard Cridge and Barry Rattenbury cruised to a 21-8 win which was followed up by Mick Heneghan, John Sherring and Steve Pomeroy who won 18-10 to record a convincing overall 39-18 victory.

In an all Lyme final in the County Secretary’s Cup Rom Hunt was simply too strong for Alan Weech winning comfortably 21-12.

Elsewhere at the club, the Lady Captain's Charity a cheque for £500 was presented by the Ladies’ Captain, Ann Allman with Vice Captain Mary Haseman, to Geoff Hunt from her chosen charity this year, Guide Dogs.  Geoff was accompanied by his guide Pringle.

Away at Seaton, Lyme lost 39-66, despite Robin White, Peter Benson, Avril Sherring, Roger Gale winning their rink 17-13.

However, Jasmine Bishop, Erica Sarson, David Flett, Paul Moffitt lost 7-24, Duncan Knight, Judith Moffitt, Kay Honey, John Sherring were beaten 8-13 and Trevor Sherring, John Owen, Keith Barnes, Alan Nabarro lost 7-16

The friendly against Ottery St Mary friendly at home also saw Lyme lose.
