There was disappointment again for Uplyme and Lyme Regis Cricket Club at the finals day of the Devon Cricket League Ivor Dewdney T20 Corinthian Cup.
Uplyme were well beaten in the semi-finals by old rivals Teignmouth and Shaldon in the first game of the day at Sandford Cricket Club.
After a shaky start, Uplyme got back on track to total 137 for 8 off their twenty overs.
Top scorers were Preston Hilless (33) and Sam Farrow (29) while Teignmouth’s Ryan Bougourd captured four for 13 from his four overs.
Uplyme’s cause was not then helped by several on-field injuries and the fact 17 runs were conceded off the very first over.
Teignmouth’s Ruben Minaar smacked a quick-fire 50 and, with Josh Crouch (45) also striking the ball well, they passed the required total with overs to spare.
Later, in the final, Teignmouth and Shaldon were beaten by eight wickets as Cullompton retained the trophy they had won last year.
