FORMER Lyme Regis goalkeeper Chris Higgs has taken up a caretaker manager role with the Seasiders.
It is understood Higgs will assume command of on-field responsibilities on a week-by-week basis.
Higgs, who last season retired from playing, was assistant to Kevin Turner this season before the ex-Lyme striker stepped down in January.
Higgs has confirmed to the Bridport & Lyme Regis News that he, along with members of the playing staff, will select a team to host Colyton at Davey Fort on Saturday (2.15pm).

Lyme have experienced a difficult season so far, with Micky Hunt leaving the club in the summer without overseeing a single game, leading to Turner’s appointment.
Lyme’s troubles in recruiting a top striker have also been well documented and the Seasiders currently sit 13th of 14 sides in the Devon & Exeter League Premier Division.
Chairman Gerard Hitchcock has been contacted for comment on the managerial situation.
