OKEHAMPTON ARGYLE II 2
LYME REGIS 2
LYME Regis became the first team to drop points to Okehampton Argyle Seconds this season, drawing 2-2 at Simmons Park.
Argyle had lost all seven of their previous Devon & Exeter League Premier Division matches, with Lyme sitting nine points above them.
Argyle brought in some fresh faces and took the lead through Hunter Middleton in slightly fortuitous circumstances as Michael Knight’s miskicked clearance allowed the forward to stroll through and score.
Lyme, whose ball retention and triangular passing was a real highlight, equalised through Dan Beer’s opportunism, pouncing on a loose ball after a spell of heavy Lyme pressure.

Unfortunately for Lyme, Middleton feasted on a second defensive error to bag his brace and send Argyle into half-time 2-1 up.
However, Knight made amends as Lyme levelled for a second time and the Dorset side looked set to go on and win the game.
Callum Garrett’s sin-bin then put a spanner in those works and Lyme opted to preserve the point rather than go away empty-handed.
Lyme boss Kevin Turner said: “It’s just the silly mistakes we’ve got to cut out because I can’t fault their effort.
“Everyone gave 110 per cent and the squad’s getting used to each other now.
“It’s the same old story, if we had an out-and-out goalscorer things would be a lot different, but we haven’t.”
Lyme host Crediton United Seconds at Davey Fort on Saturday (3pm).
