LYME REGIS 0
KENTISBEARE 2
LYME Regis continued their difficult start to the Devon & Exeter League Premier Division season with a 2-0 defeat by Kentisbeare at Davey Fort.
Lyme conceded twice from set-pieces as goals from Luke Abrahams and substitute Shane Fyles proved sufficient for Kentisbeare in a game bereft of chances.
Josh Daines spurned Lyme’s best opportunity, charging through in a one-on-one but failing to score.
The match was otherwise noteworthy for a temporary return in goal for Lyme assistant boss Chris Higgs, who retired from playing at the end of last season.
His return is down to the suspension of Will Meech, who has two more games left to sit out.

However, Lyme badly need a striker and have signed Ashley Williams from Charmouth in a bid to fill the void left by Brad Rowe and Joe Bond, handing the forward ten minutes against Kentisbeare.
But boss Kevin Turner has reservations over whether he can add more fresh faces to his arsenal of strikers.
He said: “Players want to come and sign for you when you’re winning. When you’re losing, they don’t. That’s reality.
“I’m hopeful on Ashley, he’s scored quite a few for Charmouth but it’s a lower division. Who knows? He might be the striker I’m looking for.”
