LYME Regis have their sights set on accumulating serious points in the next few months as the Seasiders target a push up the table.
Results have been mixed for Kevin Turner’s side so far in the 2023/24 edition of the Devon & Exeter League Premier Division.
Turner initially voiced concerns about a ‘baptism of fire’ in the opening four games, although Lyme took three points in three matches despite heavy losses to Colyton and Alphington.
But the Seasiders are driven by the competitive spirit within Turner and, with some favourable fixtures coming up following a tough start, he hopes the club can begin to look upwards.

He told the Bridport & Lyme Regis News: “Yeah, hopefully. I wasn’t particularly impressed with Lapford.
“We’ll wait and see. If we play and compete like we did against Lapford I’m sure we’ll win more games than we lose.
“For me, individually, I don’t like losing at all. I’m quite competitive, even down to my days going school sports days!
“I think from my point of view, I want to bring on the youngsters from Lyme. There’s a few in the reserves I’m looking at. I just want players to be happy and enjoying it.”
Lyme’s next fixture comes at home to fast-starting Sandford at Davey Fort on Saturday (3pm).
