LYME Regis Bowls Club opened their doors to the public for free as the Big Bowls Weekend showcased the sport to a wider audience.
Big Bowls Weekend was a countrywide opportunity for members of the public to find out about the sport of bowls at no cost.
Bowls equipment was provided by local clubs and members volunteered to assist and instruct, without getting too technical, in a relaxed, informal setting.
The weekend generated at least seven new applications for membership for Lyme Regis and was a very enjoyable and worthwhile day for the club.
Meanwhile, Lyme’s Paul Pomeroy, Barry Rattenbury, Steve Pomeroy and Paul Moffitt have qualified to represent Dorset at Leamington in the County Men's Fours.
