UPLYME& LYME REGIS 253-5 (20pts) beat BRAUNTON 176 (6pts) by 77 runs
UPLYME & Lyme Regis defied the odds to beat Braunton by 77 runs in Devon League C Division East.
The hosts were asked to bat first on a blistering day despite nearly half of their team making up the numbers due to a selection headache.
And Mark Batey scored a wonderful 94 to anchor the innings before Jack Lamb-Wilson blasted 59 and Tyler Wellman 46 as Uplyme posted a competitive 253-5.
Lamb-Wilson (2-32) and Wellman (4-27) were quickly amongst Braunton with the ball, despite resistance from Callum Mitchell (53) and Tom Robotham (46).
However, the duo perished and Wellman returned to polish off the tail to send Uplyme top with three games to go.
