STOKE ABBOTT trained Cobreces bagged his second consecutive Walrus Hunters' Chase at Haydock yesterday.
The nine-year-old gelding, who returned from injury just 11 days earlier at Larkhill, chalked up his fifth victory in 10 outings at the expense of Natiain, Pillaging Pict and most notably Paul Nicholls' odds-on favourite Le Passing.
Owner/trainers Lucia and David Borradaile had targeted a return to Haydock last autumn while the gelding was recovering from a tendon injury.
And after a promising comeback at Larkhill everything went according to plan as Jamie Snowden piloted the gelding to glory on the testing ground.
