Bridport Barracudas have excelled themselves again with a brilliant performance to secure first place in the second round of the Jurassic League at Bridport Leisure Centre.
All swimmers performed fantastically well on the day with some exceptional personal performances.
In total, the West Dorset outfit bagged 28 personal bests during the gala with one club record smashed by Stephanie Paynter, Yasmin Chick, Matt Cracknell, Sophie Dawe and Elena Wood.
First-place finishes were achieved by David McLaren, Jordan Chick, Jonathon Greenwood, John Brown, Jo Boyer, Grace Hewett, Zoe Robertson, Rebecca Beal, Chloe Diment, Ella Kershaw, Elena Wood, Samuel Clark, Dan Elliott, Luke Robertson, Nathanial Wormleighton, Sophie Dawe, Jasmin Chick, Clare Scarborough, Matt Cracknell, Dan Dew, Matt Greenwood and Tom Roberts-Wray.
Second spot was achieved by Elizabeth Crocker, Esme Diment, Elena Wood, Maisie Amos, Sophie Dawe, Matt Cracknell, Jasmin Chick, Nathanial Wormleighton, Rebecca Beal, David Mclaren, Matt West, Ella Kershaw, Chloe Diment, Grace Hewett, Steph Paynter, John Brown, Dan Dew, Tom Roberts-Wray, Matt Greenwood, Jonathon Greenwood, Helen Foote and Zoe Robertson.
Meanwhile, awarded third-place finishes were Grace Hewett, Nathanial Worm-leighton, Zoe Robertson, Tom Roberts-Wray, Esme Diment, Elizabeth Crocker, Maisie Amos, Elena Wood, Matt Cracknell, Holly Cooper, Jonathon Greenwood, Henry Wyrill, Otto HT, Luke Robertson and Helen Foote.
The fastest swim of the evening went to Steph Paynter, who came out of retirement for the occasion with a time of 13.59 in the 25m freestyle.
Head coach Tina Dawe said: “The swimmers were well focused throughout the whole competition. It was an absolute pleasure to watch.
“All their hard work and effort in training has now finally paid off.”
