DOUBLING UP: Katrina Love, Gerry Dudgeon, Lucian Hand, Lesley Begley
GERRY Dudgeon and Lesley Begley clinched top honours at Bridport Tennis Club’s first mixed doubles tournament of the season.
Five men and five ladies entered the event and after playing a total of four sets of eight games, the results were very close, with Katrina Love (18 points) leading the ladies’ section from Begley (17).
The men’s group was equally tight, with club chairman Dudgeon topping the leaderboard with 23 points, two more than runner-up Lucian Hand.
A play-off between the top two from each group resulted in eight exciting games and saw Dudgeon and Begley crowned the respective champions with five points apiece.
