Uplyme made it four wins in a row as they crushed previously unbeaten University of Exeter Sixths 6-1 at Venlake in Division Four of the Devon and Exeter League.

Skipper Finn McLean led from the front with a hat-trick, two clever headers and a near post volley.

All three goals were set up by Kieren Daniels who also grabbed a sharp finish for himself.

Joe Walsh and a Josh Frewin penalty kick, after a foul in the box on Alex Jones, completed the scoring.

“Along with Matt White, the central midfield trio were simply too dynamic for the opposition,” manager Steve Gillan told the News.

“A single consolation goal for the University spoiled a great defensive display but, overall, the Swallows were in sharp form for ninety minutes.”

This Saturday Uplyme have an attractive Devon Senior Cup Third Round match when they travel to Watcombe Wanderers from Newton Abbot who play in Division One of the South Devon League.

The game kicks off at 2.00 pm.
