BRIDPORT boss Chris Herbst says the team will 'bounce back' after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Cullompton at St Mary's on Tuesday night.
The Bees 'lacked conviction' according to the Bridport manager as they failed to create any real chances against one of the league's in form teams.
Cullompton took the lead in the 40th minute after a long ball over the top caught out the Bridport defence.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 65th minute from a similar situation and were then forced down to ten men after one of their players was sent off for kicking Joe Charles.
Bridport did have a penalty shout in the first half after Charles knocked the ball through two Cullompton players, who subsequently brough the forward down, leaving Herbst 'baffled' as to why a spot kick was not awarded.
The only other chance of note was a shot from Fred Parsons which was deflected off George Geraghty who adjudged to be in an offside position.
A disappointed Herbst said: "We were caught over the top by long balls and just switched off but we had no real conviction.
"The second half was better but were just not at the races.
"It is disappointing, the FA Vase game was a one off and it wouldn't derail us in the league, so to chuck in that performance was really disappointing.
"It was not through trying, we just need to work more as a team and listen better to instructions. The players need to look at themselves a little bit on that.
"We have had good performances this season and we will get back to those and bounce back.
