For not the first time this season, Uplyme gave themselves an uphill task after going three goals behind early in their Division Four game with Dunkeswell Rovers.

Full credit to them though, as they then turned the game around by hitting three goals themselves before the break.

Jamie Gunstone, who has been in prolific scoring form, got two of them, including an effort from an almost impossible angle, and Ethan Matthews was also on target with a long range strike.

They could well have had further goals before the break with Marcus Symonds crashing a volley against the crossbar.

The same pattern continued in the second half but then Uplyme were caught dawdling in midfield and the visitors took full advantage to score twice before the end to win 5-3.

Uplyme manager Steve Gillan said: “We didn’t really deserve to come away with a loss but the legs ran out of energy in the end and we didn’t have a deep bench.”

There is no let up for Uplyme as this Saturday (October 5) they play the return fixture against top of the table Morchard Bishop.
