Bridport Indoor Bowls Club Summer Morning League has been won by Iris Ashton, Brian Baker, Phil Benton, Phil Tattershall and Alan Wotherspoon's Balloons.  

An 18-6 win over Tigerwoods confirming them as champions.

With one week left, Top Bananas, Lotties Lot and Sylvias All Stars could yet claim the runner up spot.  

Gordon Lee, Kevin Ackerman and Rob Spiller's Bananas beat Devils 9-8.  

Kim Thomas, Mike Cash and Andy Marsh's Lotties Lot had a 18-5 win over Harriers.  

Mike Evans, Chris Thorner and Mike Fletcher's All Stars beat Five Tops 12-7.

 Jackie Godfrey, Arthur Stone and David Ramsden's Strollers destroyed Chancers 23- 5, and  Alison Ridgeway, Ann Turtell and Adrian Legg's More Fruits won 16-8 to round off the week's games.

Bridport's Mixed Friendly's side enjoyed their first visit to the picturesque outdoor club Chardstock going down 48-71 overall.  

Brian Earl, Roger Cowmeadow, Lyn Craddock and Mel Griffiths were Bridport's only winning rink, while there were defeats for Lorna Wallis, Allen Bird, Baker and Tattershall, Den Tapping, Legg, Phil Godfrey and Daniel Humphries and  Jackie Godfrey, Cash, Brian Suffling and Wotherspoon.

The club are holding their Summer Competitions finals this weekend with some cracking matches in prospect.  

Phil Godfrey faces Andy Marsh in the singles league final, Jackie Godfrey plays Mike Fletcher in the open singles final and Legg and Huw Rees are up against Ramsden and Paul Fletcher in the Austrailian Pairs final.

All matches starting at 10am on Saturday September 28, with Andy Spiller and Rees against Phil Godfrey and Turtell in the Open Pairs at 2.00pm.  

Anyone wishing to come along to watch some great bowls will be made most welcome - we are on on the St. Andrews Trading Estate.
