Students from the Sir John Colfox Academy visited the home of English Rugby, Twickenham, to witness England triumph over world champions New Zealand.
The Year 11 Students, who are all part of the school’s successful girls rugby team, enjoyed the trip last week where they saw England beat New Zealand by 24-12.
Lilly, 15, who went on the trip said: “It was an amazing match, England were brilliant, and it was good fun going up to Twickenham.”
Sam Morse, head of year 11 and Teacher of PE, said: “It is inspirational watching top athletes and it was great to go to Twickenham, it was a lovely sunny day and there was lots of quality rugby on show.
"We have some exceptional rugby players in our Year 11 girls team and I hope the trip inspired them to keep achieving great results, we are looking forward to another great year of Rugby at Colfox.”
Several of the students on the trip were successful in being picked for the Dorset County Under 16s rugby squad last year, despite being only 14 years old.
In total seven students from the Colfox girls team were selected to play for Dorset, well done to all of them namely, Abbie, Sophia, Phoebe, Chloe, Lilly, Alyssa and Izzy.
