Uplyme were involved in a close Division Four encounter at Venlake and deserved to take at least a point from unbeaten section leaders Morchard Bishop.
Jamie Gunstone put Uplyme ahead midway through the first half but the visitors, playing down the slope, got back into the game to lead 2-1 despite some resolute defending.
Gunstone levelled the scores at 2-2 before the break, his shot, after a mazy run into the box, hitting both uprights before going in.
Play swung from one end to the other during a hectic second period, the visitor's winning goal coming from an effort way out on the left that looked more like a cross than a shot.
The Swallows had their chances late in the game and penalty appeals were waved away when Josh Frewin was up-ended in the box.
Uplyme manager Steve Gillan told the News: “We have now played the top two teams three times in four games and been found missing that extra bit of magic or slice of luck.
“We are still without key players plus others at university and travelling and it’s hitting us hard.”
Uplyme have another home game on Saturday, September 28 at 3pm when Dunkeswell Rovers are the visitors.
