Bridport Reserves were well beaten by Holt United in the Dorset Premier League Cup

The Bulls welcomed the Bees to Petersham Lane and it was the hosts who progressed through after a comfortable win to take the sting out of the Bees Cup ambitions.

The game started with Holt on the front foot and playing some really nice football.

This led to Sam Bennett being put through on goal and scoring with his left foot into the far corner.

Holt kept the pressure on the Bees back line and following some neat play, Sam Herrington let fly from 25 yards to double the hosts lead.

As half time was closing in, Bridport got a free kick on the edge of Holt's box and the resulting free kick was deflected into the path of a George Geraghty who headed home for the visitors.

The second half started with Bridport playing a bit more directly and this meant the pitch opened up for Holt to play their exciting style of football.

After having several chances come and go, Bas Jammeh played in Ali Garard who slotted his finish into the bottom corner.

Callum Arnold narrowly missed the target for Bridport before Ben Lebow latched onto a defensive error to compound Bridport's woes as he added a fourth.
