Bridport Reserves got their Dorset Premier League campaign underway with a draw against Bournemouth Sports at St Mary's Field.
There were chances for both sides early on, with Kieran Coombs putting in a cross from out wide, but no one was able to get on the end to turn it goalward.
Josh Baker and Dan Elliott also came close for the Bees witha couple of efforts from just outside the box narrowly missing the target.
Bournemouth Sports were able to muster a few efforts on goal but the visitors never really threatened the Bees goal.
With just over half an hour on the clock, Gareth Will and Callum Arnold combined to release Dan Elliot down the wing.
Elliot's cross was then met by Josh Baker who put the Bees 1-0 up.
The Bees didn't have it all their own though as Sports came back and were able to find an equaliser just before the break.
A lapse in concentration from the bees allowed a flick-on at the near post from Jamie Trimble to find Matt Ellis who converted at the back post on the stroke of half time.
Sports came out in the second half the stronger of the two sides, but were denied superbly by Bees keeper Archie Kershaw on three separate occasions.
The home side were able to weather the storm though and re-took the lead with 55 minutes on the clock.
A counter-attacking move allowed Coombs to whip a cross to the back post, where Elliott coolly finished to put the home side back into the lead.
With the game entering the final few minutes, Sports keeper was forced into making a brilliant double save from Baker and Brad Rowe
However, with victory in sight, Sports would find a late equaliser to dash Bees hearts.
A cross from the right wing was met by Jack Voisey who headed home to leveled the game right at the death meaning both teams left St Mary's with a point.
