BEAMINSTER have confirmed that vice-captain Will Moss will replace skipper Chris Park with immediate effect.
Last week, the Bridport News reported of Park’s break from the sport going into Saturday’s 13-run win over Witchampton, for which Moss was given the captaincy.
In a statement, the Memorial Ground club said: “It is with regret that we announce the Beaminster Cricket Club senior first XI captain Chris Park has decided to stand down from the role.
“Park has played for the club for 36 years and one of the highlights of his years as captain was winning the league and gaining promotion back into Division One of the Dorset Cricket League in 2022.

“We are happy to announce that Will Moss has been voted into the role of captain by the club trustees.
“Will is a dedicated homegrown player from a family who have played for, and massively supported, the club for many years.
“Will has learnt from Chris as his vice-captain over the last few years and has the support of all senior players who will help as he transitions into the captaincy.
“The trustees thank Chris for his dedication and hard work during his tenure and hope that he and his family remain involved with the club for years to come.”
