BEAMINSTER have appointed a popular former boss as their new permanent manager.
Gordon Childs has stepped back into the role for a second spell and is joined by new player-assistant Dom McAllister.
The duo replace outgoing gaffer Murray Legg, who will manage Dorset Premier League side Bridport Reserves in 2024/25.
Childs’ return to the Memorial Ground comes just two seasons after he stepped away from the Rainbows.
In a club statement, Beaminster said: “We are delighted to welcome back Gordy Childs as first-team manager, who will be aided by Dom McAllister in a player/assistant manager role.

“The pair take the reins with ambitions of getting the side back into the Dorset Senior League.”
In seven campaigns at the helm, Childs led the west Dorset club from the Perry Street & District League into the Dorset Senior League.
He stepped down in 2022, after which Neil Holt and then Murray Legg served one-year stints in the Rainbows’ hotseat.
Meanwhile, McAllister joins after a spell with Bridport Reserves and having featured for Beaminster at the tail end of the 2023/24 term, scoring once in five games.
Prior to that, he netted seven times in 21 matches for the Bees’ second string during the 2022/23 season.
The duo will aim to improve on a Dorset League Division One season in which Beaminster finished sixth of the 10 teams.
