BEAMINSTER captain Chris Park expects a close contest with old foes Portland Red Triangle on Saturday (1pm).
Park’s men were unable to begin their County Division One season at Poole Town Seconds due to a wet outfield, giving both sides only five points apiece.
However, Portland now come to the Memorial Ground with Beaminster itching to play.
Park told the Bridport News: “We always have good games against Portland, we had two good games last year where they beat us at their best place and we made a good fist of the chase.

“They struggled at our place to get the low total we set them. Hopefully we come out on top.
“We’ve played against each other so many times. They know our strengths and weaknesses and they know ours. We know who the danger players are.
“We managed a bit of a net on Saturday for a couple of hours and we’ve got two Evening League games so we’ll at least have some cricket behind us, so we’re raring to go.”
Will Moss, Simon Jones and Jack Handford are all unavailable but Dan Hillier, James Edmunds and Ollie Bareham come in.
Beaminster: Park, Golledge, A Moss, Runyard, Baker, Hillier, Padwick, Edwards, Edmunds, Bareham, Fry.
