AVID golfers from Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club put their swings to good use by making a significant donation to Bridport Community Kitchen.
The organisation, which runs from Beacon Church situated just off Priory Lane, will receive a tremendous £2,736 after the tireless work of Bridport’s ladies’ section.
The remarkable act of generosity not only showcased the kindness of the golf club members but also reflected the true spirit of giving back to the community.
Spearheaded by Bridport Golf Club’s 2023 lady captain, Carolyn McAllister, enthusiastically embraced by club members, the heartwarming initiative was aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Through various fundraising efforts, such as a charity tournament, raffles, quiz nights and support from local businesses the ladies managed to raise the healthy four-figure sum.
Simon Batorski, founder of Bridport Community Kitchen, shared his sincere appreciation for the golf club's efforts, emphasising how the funds would be utilised to provide essential support and bring about positive change in the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Reflecting on the impact of the donation, he said: "The contribution from the members of Bridport & West Dorset Golf Club will undoubtedly make a tangible difference in our mission to support vulnerable, isolated people in our community in a non-judgmental, accepting environment with freshly cooked food and friendship and to assist with linking them to other support as appropriate.
“We are immensely grateful to Bridport Golf Club for their kind-heartedness and support."
