BEAMINSTER 1
WAREHAM RANGERS 0
BEAMINSTER edged Wareham Rangers 1-0 to continue their fine Dorset League Division One home form.
Murray Legg’s men have now taken 14 points from seven home league games, and avenged the 3-1 loss to Rangers earlier this season.
Chances came at a premium in the first half but Kieran McAllister was unlucky not to score from 25 yards, Wareham’s goalkeeper making a flying stop.
At the other end, Rainbows’ custodian Jonathan Gudge only needed to make two simple stops from long-range free-kicks.

However, Isaac House deceived the Wareham keeper with a low free-kick two minutes before the break to record his ninth goal of the campaign.
Although Beaminster made several chances in the second half they were unable to make the game safe.
Robin Jones interchanged with Isaac House before hitting the post from 15 yards, before Jacob Parsons worked the away keeper into two more fine saves.
Beaminster looked as if they might be punished for wasteful finishing when Wareham won a controversial penalty but, although Gudge was beaten, the effort hit the post as the hosts survived.
Legg told the Rainbows’ media team: “This wasn’t one of our best performances but we deserved the victory.
“We should have had two or three more goals. The pitch was very soft and difficult to play in places.
“It is good to get consecutive clean sheets, the defence is really performing for us and with the exception of the penalty, we kept Wareham to a couple of half chances only.”
Legg's men visit Portland Panthers on Saturday (2pm).
Elsewhere, Beaminster Reserves lost 4-3 at Tisbury Reserves in Division Five.
Rainbows: Gudge, Strelley, P Hill, Sweetman, Angel, R Legg, Parsons, K McAllister, I House, Jones, Dolan. Subs used: D McAllister, Pomeroy, J Hill.
