TEIGNMOUTH 4
BRIDPORT 6
BRIDPORT blasted back from 3-0 and 4-2 down to beat Teignmouth 6-4 away in a crazy 10-goal thriller in the South West Peninsula League Premier East.
Bridport gave themselves a mountain to climb after trailing 3-0 in the first half as Dan Garswood’s double and Ryan Leader's headed own goal put Teigns in dreamland.
Chris Herbst’s men, who had not played a league game in a month, looked off the pace and needed a stirring half-time team talk from the manager to get going.
They began to revive their fortunes as midfield generals Fred Parsons and Riley Weedon both scored to make it 3-2.

However, Teignmouth hit back for 4-2 as Ash Donohue scored his second goal against Bridport this season, having also netted at St Mary’s Field.
Donohue’s goal sparked a chaotic 10-minute spell in which five goals flew in.
Bridport again reduced the deficit to one goal through George Calverley before Parsons sensationally equalised at 4-4.
Omar Nyang’s unfortunate own goal gave Bridport the lead for the first time and Weedon completed his own brace as the Bees won a fourth consecutive game in all competitions.
Speaking post-match, a bewildered Herbst said: “It was hard, coming off the back of the Sherborne game we played really well.
“I got stuck into them at half-time and put a positive spin on it. We’ve been 3-1 down before and we can do it, we’ve got 45 minutes.
“Then, second half, we blew them apart, it was unreal. It was such a good team performance second half, but first half we were all over the place.
“It was just a mad game, complete carnage. I’ve never been involved in a game like that.”
On the team talk, Herbst added: “I just need to tell them to have a look at themselves. First half we were bickering. We don’t do that, never.
“It’s an eye-opener for everyone. The team talk helped, I’ve got to tell them when they’re doing things wrong and first half I could’ve had a list, it was that bad.
“Second half it was almost picture perfect, so it’s a tale of two halves.”
Herbst also believes the result sends a message to Bridport’s rivals in the division.
“That’s what I said in the changing rooms after,” he revealed.
“We were 3-0 down and it looked like we were down and out. It just shows the quality we’ve got in this squad, so it definitely does send that message.
“We do have to sharpen up at the back. Some of stuff we did was not how we play, but scoring six goals in the second half, I’ve never been involved in a game like that.”
