BEAMINSTER 9

STURMINSTER NU RES 3

BEAMINSTER were on cloud nine after collecting their first Dorset League Division One win of the season, thrashing Sturminster Newton Reserves 9-3 at the Memorial Ground.

Beaminster paid the price for a slow start when a Cherries centre-back was gifted a free header from a corner.

Beaminster were level in the 15th minute when Noah House darted in from the left and played through Isaac House who coolly finished a one-on-one.

Noah House then made it 2-1 with a skilful goal, showing light footwork to ease past the covering defence and bury a good finish.

Beaminster were now in the ascendancy as Robin Jones and Kieran McAllister exchanged passes before unselfish running from his fellow forwards allowed Jones to surge through the middle, finishing into the bottom corner.

In the 40th minute, Noah House completed his brace with a composed one-on-one but the visitors pulled a goal back before half-time for 4-2 before Isaac House was sin-binned for dissent while walking off for the break.

His absence did little to stop Beaminster’s dominance and Noah House completed his hat-trick when he cut in from the left once again and finished for 5-2 on 50 minutes.

House’s brother Isaac, returning from the sin bin, scored from 20 yards with a curler into the bottom corner.

And he too completed his hat-trick, this time from the penalty spot after being upended in the box.

To their credit, Cherries scored an excellent 25-yard goal to make it 7-3 but Beaminster continued to attack.

Noah House bagged his quadruple courtesy of a familiar method when he cut in from the left, outsprinted the defence and scored.

And the final goal went to Jake Rowland who pounced on a loose ball from six yards.

Speaking to Beaminster’s media team, Rainbows’ boss Murray Legg said: “Although we started slowly, the response from the team was excellent.

“From the moment we scored the equaliser I was confident we would go on to win the game.

“We tweaked our formation this week and the players listened and applied themselves.

“Noah and Isaac were class, threatening the defence every time they had the ball. Their finishing was accurate, hitting the target on every opportunity.”
