DRIMPTON have received praise from a former Bournemouth chairman following their double-winning season.
Norman Hayward, who was Cherries' chief from 1991 to 1994, took the time to message Greens' boss Andy Loudon offering his congratulations on the silverware.
Hayward, who sponsors Drimpton, said: "It's been a pleasure to be able to support Drimpton FC over the last couple of years and to know we might have contributed in some small way to the outstanding season you have had as a club and a team.

"Having experienced the highs and lows of professional football myself – as chairman of Bournemouth FC when the club went into administration and as deputy chairman and director of Yeovil Town when the Glovers were promoted to the Championship – I know from personal experience how much the successes of this season mean to everyone associated with Drimpton Football Club.
"Much like Bournemouth, Drimpton has risen from the ashes to achieve a major turn round and outstanding results in very short order.
"This requires dedication and commitment from everyone at any football club at every level from the Premier League to the Perry Street League.
"This is what you have achieved this season. Have a great night and here’s to continuing our support for you next season – in World Cup year.
"With our best wishes,
Norman Hayward."
Drimpton went on to celebrate their tremendous season at the club's annual awards night.
Players' player of the year went to Tom 'Tufty' Franklin, while Adam Cody-Boutcher scooped the top goalscorer with 29 goals.
Manager's player was awarded to Tom Rutland and Ryan Gay was named chairman's player of the year.
Josh Cousins took home young player of the year, with Andy Woods named top sportsman.
The Nick Record Trophy went to Frank Symonds and the clubman award was handed to Rickie Samways.
