NEW Cattistock & Symene first-team skipper has labelled the captaincy an “exciting challenge” ahead of the 2022 season.
Tucker, who also skippers Dorchester Rugby Club’s first team, takes over the reins from Bradley Damen.
He will lead the side in Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League action, with the Foxes finishing in eighth place last season – 21 points ahead of Christchurch.
Speaking to the Bridport & Lyme Regis News, the wicketkeeper-batsman said: “After a long winter, we are all very excited to get back to playing some cricket.

“We have had a strong turn out at indoor training, with returning players and some new faces.
“It is an exciting challenge to take on the captaincy of our first XI in a competitive Premier League.
“Last year was a steep learning curve for us as a club and as individual players and that experience has helped us with preparation for this summer.
“Our aim is to solidify our Prem status this season, with a fresh feel to the club. Our newly-promoted second team, under the new leadership of Reuben Kingston, will be looking to challenge in Division Three and our third XI will continue to offer our young players a first experience of senior cricket.”
Cattistock & Symene open on Saturday, May 7 with a home clash against Sherborne, while the Foxes’ seconds host Hamworthy Seconds in County Division Three.
Their third team then begins one week later at home to Lytchett in the new County Division Six.
