TWO Colfox students will run for Dorset in the English Schools Championships in Manchester on Sunday, July 11.
Year 9 pupils Maisy Herbert and Nia McConnell shone for Colfox at the Dorset School Championships with superb displays.
Their efforts came after a terrible 18 months for athletes, with the championships able to take place under Covid restrictions.
McConnell took gold in two events, the 300m and 100m, where she clocked times of 41.7 and 13.4 seconds respectively.
Her 300m time places her 13th in the UK standings for an under-15 girl.
Herbert threw a personal best of 30.05m in the javelin to take the county title and move into the top 25 in the UK for her age.
By the time Styrin came to run the heat was almost unbearable but he ran bravely as he always does to take silver in the 1,500m in a time of 4:43.
Year 10 student Freddie Pearce took silver and bronze in the discus and javelin.
Year 11 talent Oliver Forsee ran heroically on the back of limited time to train with his GCSEs and Covid-19 to take silver in the 800m with an exceptional time of 2:09.
Huge credit goes to the coaches Dean Exton, Guy Smith and Richard Tuck for their support.
