CATTISTOCK & Symene’s three teams experienced mixed fortunes on the opening day of the cricket season.
The Foxes’ first team visited Poole in the Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League.
Cattistock batted first and made 111-8 before rain forced the game’s abandonment, Ben Golledge top scoring with 26 while Dan Jackson took 3-16.
Hoping to build on their 2019 promotion and 2020 league victory, the Foxes’ second string faced Ashmore.
George Wyrill (3) went early on but captain Sam Good helped Wes Lewis get the home team off to a good start.
Good fell for a quickfire 30 but Lewis held firm and passed his 50, while Harry Angel (21) and Justin Gurd (31) provided runs through the middle order before Lewis went for an impressive 83.

Robin Jones then came in and cracked 45 not out to propel the Foxes past 250.
Joe Etherington took the new ball and dismissed three of the top four with a great spell of pace bowling, claiming 3-20 from his eight overs.
Good claimed 3-28 and sealed the victory thanks to a smart stumping from wicketkeeper Leo Gurd.
In their maiden season, the third XI hosted Stalbridge at Symondsbury.
Captain Graham Bartlett fell early on but club stalwart Nigel Toohill steadied the ship along with youngster Bradley Wilkinson.
Toohill fell for 13 but Wilkinson held firm, showing great patience before falling for a well made 22.
Further runs down the order from Jay Collins (10) boosted the home team towards 100 but they fell just short, being bowled out for 95.
Wilkinson (1-13) took his confidence into a spell with the new ball and picked up the first wicket.
At the other end Louis Partridge (1-22) bowled tightly before Damian Barnard took a wicket.
Casper Hulacki picked up two scalps and then Jade Wilkinson and Jack Bartlett applied the pressure with some very economical bowling.
The pressure showed with them each picking up a wicket but the visitors secured victory by three wickets.
