LYME Regis Golf Club “alternative” seniors, The Lepers, held their annual medal competition, with Kim Jeffery victorious.

There were 19 players that set off from the first and 10th tees under bright blue skies with hopes of winning this year’s prestigious competition.

Among the favourites were 2017 and 2108 winner Ray Parsons, former club captain John Coley and Patrick Finnemore recently performing exceptionally well on his 20 handicap.

In the end, the leaders were separated by fine margins.

John Coley finished fourth and Jerry Garrett fifth, both with nett 73 and only split by countback on the back nine.

It was the same for second-placed Simon Prior and third Peter Hardisty, both with nett 72.

However, the shield went to the winner Jeffery by two shots with a nett 70.

Astonishingly, in a real hero-to-zero moment, the wooden spoon/putter was claimed by last year’s winner Parsons.

The prizes were presented at a dinner in the clubhouse with food provided by head chef Stephen Pielesz.

The Lepers meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings where everyone is welcome.
