SIXTEEN Beaminster School students displayed their new-found sailing prowess by gaining RYA Stage One and Two sailing qualifications.

The mixed group of students from Years 8, 9 and 10 attended the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre, based at the world class Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy, during the school’s annual Activities Week.

Gabriel Allen, Rosie Donaldson, Megan Dunlop, Harvey Harding, Gabriel Harp, Abigail Lock, Oliver Loder, Isaac Lord, Alfie Manley, Hugo Mitchelson, Aaron Pittard, Josef Rychnovosky, Will Smith, Alice Strong, Ben Tett, and Nancy Turnbull all attained the qualification.

Five of the students are now in training for their Stage Three award and are attending the centre on Wednesday evenings.
