BRIDPORT & West Dorset Golf Club's men's Sunday competition was the October Medal and 76 starters turned out on a warm morning with very little wind, presenting the players with ideal conditions for golf, writes Peter Crowter.
This was reflected in the number of low scores. In fact, in Division One, there were 11 gross scores in the 70s and, over the three divisions, there were 14 nett scores in the 60s.
The two lowest nett scores of the day came from Division Three where Phil Lathey carded a 65 and runner-up Tom Hunt, 66. The top man in Division One was John White with a nett 67 and the leader of Division Two was Phil Dowell with 68.
