A GROUP of players, coaches and parents from Bridport Rugby Club Juniors travelled to the Madejski Stadium, Reading, to take part in the pre-match proceedings ahead of the Aviva Premiership match between London Irish and Exeter Chiefs.
The young Blues were invited to attend by Pump Technology Ltd, a major sponsor of the London Irish team.
The day was full of excitement for the young Bridport players, starting with a question-and-answer session with London Irish prop, Jonny Harris.
Next was the highlight of the day, with the Bridport youngsters forming the tunnel for both teams’ entrance on to the pitch.
The group then had the opportunity to parade around the stadium at half-time.
The day ended with a meet-and-greet session with the Exeter Chiefs, including former Brid-port RFC player, Haydn Thomas.
A club spokesman said: “This was a great day out for our players, giving them a taste of top-flight rugby, seeing numerous international players in action and soaking up the big-match atmosphere.
“The club hopes to have many future opportunities like this for our young players to experience.”
The club is always looking for new players of all ages, if you or your child would like to try rugby, contact Julian on 07836 371029.
