THIS week sees the start of Shipton Gorge’s matches in the Weymouth & District Table Tennis League.
Once again, Shipton has entered a team into all three divisions of the league and some tough matches lie ahead over the coming season.
Last year, the club delivered excellent results, with Ship-ton A finishing third in a field of 10 teams, while the B side, claimed fourth in a league of nine teams and Shipton C (third in a field of nine).
All three of Shipton’s teams have been practising hard throughout the summer months in the hopes of equalling or bettering last year’s results.
As well as team players, Shipton Gorge also includes enthusiastic social players who meet for friendly practice games on Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons at Shipton Village Hall.
The club is always happy to hear from anybody interested in playing the game at any level. For further information, contact Eddy Buck on 01308 898278, or Terry Diver on 01308 898656
