BRIDPORT 17 CREWKERNE 25
BRIDPORT warmed up for Saturday’s cup clash at East Dorset with a 25-17 friendly defeat to Crewkerne at the Brewery Ground.
The match gave Bridport’s new coaching team the opportunity to take a look at the progress their squad is making in readiness for the Dorset & Wilts One South season.
Played over four 20-minute periods, the encounter gave both sides the chance to try out a variety of player combinations.
Somerset League outfit Crewkerne had beaten Sherborne by a point earlier in the month so their eight-point margin of victory in West Dorset said a lot about the Blues’ performance.
Bridport club captain Oz Sullivan said: “It was a good blow out, a chance for new players to show their talents and for some training moves to be tested.”
