BURSTOCK Grangers got their hands on the championship trophy after winning the Beaminster & Bridport District League title.

The quartet, playing out of Beaminster Social Club, finished 18 points ahead of Bendiwafflebangers and Traw-lerz to take the crown.

As well as triumphing as part of a team, the Grangers players excelled on the singles and doubles front.

Ben Frampton won the singles knockout tournament and partnered Bill Studley to claim the doubles competition.

Nick Sully was the player of the year and doubles player of the year along with Tim Frampton.

Meanwhile, Nelson’s Flag-ship – Steve Dawe, Dave Frost, Colin Granger and Neil Chilcott – were the Knockout Cup winners after beating Rack ‘n’ Roll 6-5 in the final.

Tom Moore, Paul Mclean, Shaun Hillier and Peter May of the Pocket Rockets edged out Pocket Full of Balls 6-4 to lift the Shield.

Kevin Wheeler (Red Hot Shots) was runner-up in both the singles cup and the player of the year award.

The league is always looking for new talent and anyone interested in forming a team should contact the secretary before the end of June. Details can be found at beaminsterbridportpoolleague.org.uk
