Longleat is to stage Europe’s largest ever display of giant Chinese lantern structures this Christmas (November 14th – January 4th).
The Festival of Light will see hundreds of enormous illuminated designs, some measuring up to 18 metres in height, transform the Wiltshire estate in to a glowing wonderland.
Starting in November and running into January, the unique display will recreate a magical world of Chinese myths and legends with incredibly-detailed individual designs reaching well beyond the height of a two-storey house.
Set amid the beautiful backdrop of the landscaped grounds and gardens surrounding Longleat House, the lit structures will also spill out on to Half Mile Lake to create a stunning and enchanting experience for visitors.
As part of the Festival of Light visitors will also be able to enjoy the extraordinary Chinese ‘face-changing’ opera where performers magically transform elaborate masks in an instant.
The event will run alongside Longleat’s traditional Christmas celebrations which include the Santa Train, Giant Musical Christmas Tree, Pantomime Characters and outdoor Ice Skating Rink.
OPENING DATES: Open Fridays to Sundays ONLY: November 14th – December 7th.
