A HOST of attractions are planned when the Bridport Charter Fair bursts into life in the town centre.
The streets will be packed with more than 25 stalls when the annual extravaganza is held at the heart of the town on Saturday.
It will take place on South Street, in Bucky Doo Square and in the Borough Gardens from 9am to 4pm.
Gill Bowskill, who is on the organising committee, said: “Alongside the normal Saturday market there will be a variety of fundraising stalls.
“There will be tombolas, games, facepainting, books and toys as well as information stalls, including the Bridport Bandits.
“The Rotary club will be doing the barbecue and there will be displays outside the arts centre.”
She added: “There will also be a dog obedience display, face painting and a bouncy castle in the Borough Gardens.”
The Rex Trevett Band will open the fair with a musical performance at 9am. SingAcapella and other musicians will also perform during the day. Youngsters from schools will also perform dances during the morning and lunchtime.
Grayham Rosamund will be the master of ceremonies at the fair, which is free and open to all.
Sandra Brown and Frances McKenzie are the chairmen of the committee.

Henry III granted the charter in recognition of its increased wealth and trade in rope and hemp products.
