Lyme Regis band Papa le Gál will be returning home to launch their eagerly anticipated record Voodoo.
The EP will be launched at the Harbour Inn, Lyme Regis, on Saturday, July 2, at 10pm in the band’s first public performance in the town since moving to Bristol.
The five-piece ‘tropical rock’ group features Grace Gillan on vocals and guitar, Olli Dixon on guitar and backing vocals, Jacques Verhaeren on bass and vocals, Greg Walters on drums and backing vocals and Wil Benson on keyboard, horns and percussion.
Wil said: “Rather than launching the EP up there (Bristol) we felt it would be nice to repay the love and support shown to the band by our fans in Lyme and the surrounding area over the last two years by coming back to do it here.
“We chose the Harbour Inn in particular as we’ve always had a really good relationship with them as a venue and time and again they’ve been extremely supportive of us.”
The EP will be £3 to buy at the launch party, £4 thereafter, though the audio will be available as a high-quality stream online through www.papalegal.co.uk, as well as on the band’s SoundCloud and MySpace accounts.
A number of audio stems of the tracks will be available through the Papa Le Gál Remix SoundCloud for any aspiring remix artists to use.
The EP features original artwork by Ben Russell – www.benrussell.co.uk – formerly from Lyme Regis and now living in London.
Voodoo will have its radio debut on Dave Preece’s show on Bristol’s Southsound Radio next Monday between 7pm and 9pm.
