PLENTY of local prizes are up for grabs at an auction of promises Today.

The event at 7pm in the Woodmead Halls is in support of the Share-in-the-Shelters fund for the regeneration of the Marine Parade Shelters.

West Dorset MP Oliver Letwin will be auctioneer and the bar will be open from 6.30pm, with nibbles from By the Bay Restaurant.

Payment on the evening will be by cheque or cash.

Up for grabs are green fees for two 18-hole rounds of golf at Lyme Regis Golf Club, a £50 voucher towards a holiday booked at Your World travel shop, a voucher for a two-course meal for two plus a bottle of house wine at the Millside Restaurant and one year’s free entry for four people to Lyme Regis Museum.

A weekend bed and breakfast for two is provided by Book Lovers B&B (after October) and so is a framed photographic print ‘Summertime in Broad Street’ by Peter Wiles Photography.

The Mariners Hotel is offering a £50 meal voucher for two, and a mural by Brian Matravers and colleagues on the shelters hoarding is available by sections or as a whole.

A £40 meal voucher for two at the Harbour Inn or a meal-for-two voucher at the Jurassic Seafood Restaurant (Monday evening) are available.

Auctioneer Mr Letwin will join two lots of bidders for tea-for-two at the House of Commons, while a week’s beach hut use in Lyme (excluding school holidays) may attract interest.

Fivepenny Farm is offering a voucher for a fruit and vegetable hamper (approximately £30), and Hotel No 1 is providing one night’s bed and breakfast for two (mid-week, out of season).
