LYME Regis cheesemonger Justin Tunstall is combining his two loves next week – sitting astride his Harley Davidson and eating astounding food.
The owner of the Town Mill Cheesemonger is joining forces with fellow two-wheeling foodie, Masterchef Mat Follas, who runs The Wild Garlic in Beaminster, for the trip across the Channel.
The two men and their two Harleys will be enjoying a week-long trip hoping to sample the ground-breaking cooking at le Chateaubriand in Paris.
Mr Follas will then continue on to Milan to see Da Vinci’s The Last Supper.
Sadly the Dorset duo, who are being joined while in France by Surrey-based IT guru Matt Harrington, have not got a reservation at their chosen restaurant.
Mr Tunstall said: “We’re on the waiting list. I just hope that we won’t have to rely on the foraging for which Mat’s cooking is renowned – I like a wild garlic baguette but fancy something we can’t get locally.”
Even with West Dorset’s growing reputation as a food mecca the pair are very excited about their trip.
Mr Tunstall is keen to visit Androuet’s celebrated fromagerie, and Mr Follas to look at culinary equipment shops.
They say they will not be taking a leaf out of William Hague’s book and sharing a room.
Mat said: “My snoring is louder than my Harley’s exhaust pipes.”
