Traffic chaos in west Dorset caused by roadworks is set to last another week.
There have been reports of ‘huge queues’ through West Allington and along West Road in Bridport as a result of the four-way temporary traffic light system which has been put in place at roundabout near the White Lion pub.
The works have now been extended with a completion date of December 3.
Traffic measures have been put up to allow Total Utility Connections to safely carry out ‘utility asset works.’
The roadworks were initially scheduled to last a fortnight, with an end date set as Friday, November 29.
Motorists are being asked to use an alternative route where possible, especially to and from North Allington.
To help reduce delays, the traffic lights are being manned between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
