A 14-year-old girl has appeared in court in connection with a violent incident at a brewery in Lyme Regis.

The Lyme Regis teenager, who cannot be named because of her age, was one of three teens charged after it is alleged rocks were thrown and staff were verbally abused at the Lyme Regis Brewery in Mill Lane on the night of Saturday, September 14. 

The Lyme teenager appeared at Weymouth Youth Court yesterday where she was charged with two counts of common assault and one count of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

An admission statement submitted on the girl's behalf said that she did not throw rocks at the brewery or the staff, but she admitted to one count of assault and using words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress. 

She admitted to being "generally disorderly" and "accepted responsibility of being part of the group when the rocks were thrown".

The case has been adjourned to February 5, 2025 to allow the court to consider the admission statement.  

Within this time period, this issue could still instead be dealt with by an out-of-court disposal, it was heard.

A 14-year-old girl from Axminster in Devon has also been charged with a public order offence in relation to this incident. She is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

A 13-year-old girl from Uplyme in Devon has been charged with criminal damage, common assault and a public order offence.  She is due to appear before Weymouth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
