There were major delays on the A35 in west Dorset following a crash.
It happened in Chideock at about 2.40pm and led to the closure of the route for around three hours.
There was heavy traffic with tailbacks stretching back to Morcombelake in the west and the Higher Eype area in the east.
Speaking at the time of the incident, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 2.42pm to a report of a collision involving two vehicles on the A35 at Chideock.
"Officers in attendance with ambulance service"
Police said later there were no serious injuries but that one person was being taken to hospital.
They reopened the route about 5.15pm.
